Veterans for Peace Meeting, Thursday, Mar. 22, 7 pm St. Mary's Episcopal

Meeting Notice
Veterans for Peace, Ernest Gruening Chapter (South Central Alaska) will meet on Mar. 22 at 7 pm downstairs in Room 3 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church at Tudor & Lake Otis.

I will need help staffing a table on Saturday, Mar. 17th from 1:00 pm to about 2:30 pm to talk to folks about Veterans for Peace. Please wear as many identifying hats, buttons, etc. on Saturday so we can be recognized. I will print out some more applications for membership. Pray for decent weather—how about cold but with NO wind?

The meeting on Thursday will cover the events on Mar. 17 surrounding the 4th Anniv. of the start of the Iraq War and the Blood Drive on Mar. 20.

My main contribution to the event on the 17th has been getting the Peace Rally/March ad in the paper on Friday, the 16th. The Alaska Peace Coalition raised over $1,500 to place the ad. Thanks to all of you who contributed. Special thanks to Ladonna Lindley for all her work on the graphics. Be sure to point the ad out to as many people as possible so we get a good turnout on Saturday.

I have been invited to appear on CC’s afternoon show at 3 pm on Friday, Mar. 16th (Cutting Edge from 2 to 4 pm on KUDO, 1080 AM). I will talk about the nature of the civil war in Iraq and why we think it is a good idea not to get in the middle of someone else’s civil war.

** We have a standing meeting time and place: the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at St. Mary’s.—SO MARK YOUR CALENDARS
